Tangletown

Tangletown is an area including part of both Wallingford and Greenlake; it is the northern-most part of Wallingford and the southernmost part of Greenlake stretching from N 50th St down to the south shores of Greenlake. The name “Tangletown” comes from the disturbance of Seattle‘s street grid where Wallingford transitions into Greenlake, and it is easy to get directionally challenged while driving around. I live in this neighborhood and even as a real estate agent it has taken me awhile to get my bearings in this area.

Residents love the area because they can easily access both Wallingford‘s 45th street shops, theaters and restaurants as well as the much loved Tangletown businesses.  These include many unique and well known restaurants, the local neighborhood market “Meridian Market” and of course Greenlake.

Tangletown is one of the more favored areas of Greenlake because you are far enough away from both I-5 and 99 to avoid the noise, yet still centrally located and close enough to access them quickly.

Property prices in Tangletown more closely mirror Wallingford than the rest of Greenlake because it is so close-in to urban happenings, and more high-end development has occurred here.
Right when you drive into the Tangletown Business area you will see the large “Tangletown” sign, here sits the Elysian Brewery and Restaurant.
